Paul Olenick began playing the trombone when he was seven years old. Paul’s teachers have included Jack Gale, Dave Taylor, Conrad Herwig, Steve Turre, Doug Elliot and Garry Dial. He has performed with Aretha Franklin, Robin Eubanks, Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Les Elgart, Ray Anthony, Billy May Orchestra, Keter Betts, Charlie Persip, Rich Perry, Ben Monder and Terrell Stafford among others. In addition to touring North America and Europe, Paul has played in venues ranging from The Blue Note, Birdland, Knitting Factory and Blues Alley to the Kennedy Center, New York and Philadelphia Fringe Festivals, and several of the International Association of Jazz Educators Conferences.

Paul has been honored with the Thad Jones Memorial Scholarship, Stan Getz/Clifford Brown Fellowship, National ARTS Scholarship, the Fish Middleton Jazz Scholarship and was selected to take part in the JAS Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Colony in 1999 which was made into a documentary for BET. Paul attended William Patterson graduated from Manhattan School of Music in 2005. Paul Olenick was raised in Germantown, MD and has lived in New York City since 1997.
