Sean Nowell was born to a family of sherpas in the himalayas. After multiple climbs of mount everest with Sir Edmund Hillary, he decided to take a much more difficult and uncharted route: Becoming a working jazz musician in New York City. Here he resides in his medieval french castle that he had transported stone by stone and reconstructed on the northern tip of Manhattan. From this base of operations he plans his scheme for world domination....... Sean Nowell was actually born in Wurtzburg, Germany --- grew up in Birmingham, Alabama --- went to church and sang alot, made movies in the summers with bankrupt productions to stay out of trouble --- got a BA in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music --- got a MA in Performance from Manhattan School of Music --- learned how to play flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, udu, didgeridoo, fx pedals --- has since written and recorded for ballet, theatre (internationally), feature length films, independant films, all size jazz/funk groups, --- has toured internationally with Bond Street Theatre as composer (subsequentially playing local jazz gigz world wide) --- has performed nationally with Bond Street, MonAtomic, O.K., Travis Sullivan's Bjorkestra, Far South Movement, and the Temptations --- and also has been featured in productions of "Guys and Dolls", "Beehive", "Smokey Joe's Cafe", and "I Can't Stop Loving You -the music of Ray Charles".....current projects include:___MONATOMIC *furiously rhythmic electric fx driven jazz/funk*___ SEAN NOWELL QUINTET *nyc style original jazz*_____O.K. *the deep south antiracisim machine. greasy superfunky jams on popular covers*____BOND STREET THEATRE *avant-garde globe trotting physical theatre company * ____BJORKESTRA *18 piece jazz/electronica big band playing bjork*___VORTEX 9 VS.
